10th International Conference on Composite Construction - CCX 2025
Semiahmoo Resort Blaine. WA (USA)
July 27-30, 2025
The 10th International Conference on Composite Construction (CCX) will take place at the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA (USA) on July 27-30, 2025. The conference series was initiated by Ivan Viest, through the Engineering Foundation in 1987, with the aim of periodically assessing and synthesizing the most recent advances in research and practice in the area of composite steel-concrete construction. Since then, the conference has expanded to all types of composite construction used in buildings and bridges.
The upcoming conference was preceded by those held in Henniker, NH, USA (1987), Potosi, MO, USA (1992), Irsee, Germany (1996), Banff, Canada (2000), Kruger National Park, South Africa (2004), Tabernash, CO, USA (2008), Palm Cove, Australia (2013), Jackson Hole, WY, USA (2016), and Frankfurt, Germany (2021, online). The venues have been chosen to provide a secluded and nurturing environment that leaves plenty of time for informal interactions. All participants are required to present a paper.
The conference follows a schedule with keynote lectures in the early mornings and technical sessions in the late morning and early evening. This leaves the afternoon for open discussions and networking opportunities, as the primary objective of the conference is the free exchange of ideas and development of long-term personal relationships. The conference organizers plan to invite approximately 100 people, divided about evenly between senior and junior (including PhD candidates) researchers, practitioners, and code/material experts.
For the 10th conference, papers are invited in the following areas:
- Innovative composite structural systems for buildings and bridges
- Signature composite bridges and buildings
- New forms, analyses, and code provisions for composite elements, including:
- Diaphragms and other floor systems
- Shear connectors
- Composite beams
- Composite columns
- Composite walls
- Diaphragms and other floor systems
- Fire and seismic design
- Innovative/unusual structures
- Wood-steel composite systems
- FRP-steel-concrete composite systems
